Palmer, Mickelson, Couples & Trevino Signed 2002 Par 3 Shootout Commemorative Display
This lot features a professionally matted and framed commemorative display for the 2002 Par 3 Shootout held at Treetops Resort in Gaylord, Michigan. The display includes a color photograph at the top depicting golfers Arnold Palmer, Fred Couples, Lee Trevino, and Phil Mickelson posing together on the course. Centered below the photograph is an engraved brass-tone plaque reading: Par 3 Shootout / TREETOPS RESORT, GAYLORD, MICHIGAN / 2002. The bottom section of the display contains a custom hand-embroidered Par-3 Shootout logo patch with a stylized 3 in red, black, and gold thread. The white matting is hand-signed in black felt-tip marker by the four golfers pictured. Lee Trevino's signature is located in the upper left, Fred Couples in the lower left, Phil Mickelson in the upper right, and Arnold Palmer in the lower right. The reverse side includes a manufacturer label from Classic Gifts & Awards, The Gold Bullion Company of Pinehurst, North Carolina, along with a secondary gold sticker for Custom Hand Embroidery. James Spence Authentication (JSA) has reviewed this signature of Watkins and their auction house letter of authenticity comes with this lot.
