Original 'Not Lost But Gone Before' Framed Golf Cartoon Watercolor w/Collector's Card By Artist Cynicus
Martin Anderson (1854-1932), better known under his pseudonym Cynicus, was a top Scottish illustrator and publisher working for Punch, Pall Mall Budget and other magazines along with his own comic 'The Satires of Cynicus.' Postcards were a large focus during his career, creating color illustrations that would be mailed around the world including this original golfer artwork with postcard titled 'Not Lost But Gone Before.' Both the postcard and original artwork used for the postcard featuring a golfer who's ball was picked up by a goose and looks to be trying to claim it.
