With landscape orientation appeal Jock Hutchison, winner of the the 1920 PGA Championship, 1921 Open Championship and the first Honorary Starter at The Masters Tournament in tandem with Fred McLeod is in the follow-through position as artfully created with his primarily earth-tone color pallete by artist Robert Fletcher. Hutchison, in winning the 1921 Open, became the first United States based player to win the Open after gaining citizenship only shortly prior.
Renown golf industry painter and sculpture Robert Fletcher has dedicated nearly 40 years to refining his craft in the fine arts. His works are exhibited on the historic grounds of Cherry Hills and Colorado Golf Club in bronze busts, prior to participating as a lead artist in a recent Golf Heritage Society Meeting art workshop. His most recent success was work that was used as a tribute to the course architect team of Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw at the Colorado Golf Club. Robert has a unique style, with a mix of realism and and shadowing resulting in an almost a mythic result. A perfectionist, Fletcher's artistic touch starts long before the brush is dipped in paint. Fletcher shared that he used raw stretched linin from Utrecht, Netherlands which is wetted and then applied with specialized rabbit skin glue prior to the artwork starting. This offering is for a tastefully framed original oil on canvas of Jock Hutchison by Robert Fletcher, with the prized artist's signature painted in the bottom right hand corner. 15 1/2" x 27 1/2"
