Holding his cap in one hand and his hickory club in the other, Jock Hutchison is artistically depicted as the star of this stunning original oil on canvas painting donning his time-period attired of plus fours and a sweater concealing much of his shirt and tie. Gazing off to the observers right side, Jock is either deep in thought or shaping up a hole before the challenge. Highly acclaimed artist Robert Fletcher. The 1920 and 1921 PGA Championship winner and inaugural Masters Tournament Honorary Starter left a large impact on the game of golf. In winning the Open Championship in 1921, Hutchison became the first United States based player to win the Open.
Renown golf industry artist Robert Fletcher has dedicated nearly 40 years to refining his craft in the fine arts. His works are exhibited on the historic grounds of Cherry Hills and Colorado Golf Club in bronze busts, prior to participating as a lead artist in a recent Golf Heritage Society Meeting art workshop. His most recent success was work that was used as a tribute to the course architect team of Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw at the Colorado Golf Club. Robert has a unique style, with a mix of realism and and shadowing resulting in an almost a mythic result.
