Here is a watercolor and ink original painting of Bantam Ben done by Pulitzer Prize Artist Eugene Payne. Longtime Charlotte Observer, Payne won the Pulitzer price with his work centered around the Vietnam War and Civil Rights issued of the country in 1968. Five years later he painted and sketched this original watercolor pen and ink of the stoic Ben Hogan in his patented white hat before a sky blue background, signing and dating his work in the left-hand corner. Matted in green, it measures 23 1/2" x 18."
