Nolan Ryan Signed 1993 Texas Rangers Phantom World Series Full Ticket Numbered 231/500
Nolan Ryan closed out his storied Hall of Fame career pitching for the Texas Rangers in 1993. It was a memorable season for Ryan and the Rangers starting on Opening Day when the 46-year-old became the oldest pitcher to start and win an opener. Ryan did not show his age that season highlighted by a headlock followed by several punches to the head of Robin Ventura following a hit by pitch and Ventura charging the mound in one of baseball's all-time brawls. Ryan made his final pitching appearance bin September that year and retired with a career record of 324-292 and 5,714 strikeouts. The Rangers remained in contention for the division title throughout the season earning the Commissioner's office blessing to print World Series tickets. A second place finish by the Rangers that season led to these official tickets only being souvenirs. A quantity of these tickets were hand signed by Nolan Ryan with this being #231/500.
