Margie Masters' 1965 US Women's Open Course Record Used Dunlop Ball Scorecard Plaque
Firing a 67 for a course record in 1965 US Women's Open was Margie Masters, receiving this plaque honoring professional her course record performance at the USGA championship. The item consists of a rectangular wooden base with a mounted metal plate scorecard and a golf ball. The etched reproduction of Masters' scorecard from the fourth and final round at the Atlantic City Country Club documents her score of 67. Text on the plate notes that this score of 5 under par tied the USGA Women's Open championship record round and that Masters finished the tournament in 8th place with a total 72-hole score of 301. The plate includes a printed facsimile signature of Margie Masters and the Dunlop logo in a teardrop shape at the bottom. To the left of the plate is a mounted dimpled golf ball marked with the number 4, the Dunlop brand name, and a red circular symbol. The reverse of the wooden base includes a metal sawtooth hanger and a single screw that secures the golf ball to the front. 8" x 5"
