Ltd. Ed. MacGregor Jack Nicklaus Twenty-Fifth Anniversary Commemorative Golf Club Set
Presented here is a MacGregor Jack Nicklaus Twenty-Fifth Anniversary Commemorative Limited Edition set of golf clubs, produced in 1986 as a reproduction of the specific MacGregor clubs used by Jack Nicklaus during the early years of his professional career from 1961 through 1967. The set is presented in a custom-built wooden display case with a green felt backing. The set consists of 13 clubs in total, including a driver, 3 wood, eight irons numbered 2 through 9, a pitching wedge, a sand wedge, and a Model 600 putter. The iron heads feature incised and stamped marks including MacGregor in script, Tourney Custom in red-filled script, JACK NICKLAUS in block letters, and SS1. The putter blade is marked Tourney Custom, MacGregor, JACK NICKLAUS, and MODEL 600. Each club features the limited edition number 1529 / 2500 on the black ferrule above decorative orange, red, and white stripes. The wood clubs have the same limited edition number printed on the neck of the club head. A brass plaque on the case reads: JACK NICKLAUS / TWENTY-FIFTH ANNIVERSARY COMMEMORATIVE CLUBS / A LIMITED EDITION REPRODUCTION OF THE MacGREGOR CLUBS / PLAYED BY JACK NICKLAUS FROM THE TIME HE BEGAN HIS PROFESSIONAL / GOLFING CAREER IN 1961 AND USED THROUGH 1967. / NUMBER 1,529 OF 2,500 / ORIGINALS ON DISPLAY AT MUIRFIELD GOLF CLUB, DUBLIN, OHIO / MacGREGOR GOLF COMPANY, 1986.
