1901 Handwritten Garden G. Smith Letter

Hand written missle from celebrated turn of the century golf writter Garden G. Smith. The penning comes in his role as the early editor of Britain's Golf Illustrated reminding the interviewer to drop his name with Harry Vardon. Letter transcribed is as follows:

Golf Illustrated
Jan. 1, 1901

Dear Sir

I see an interview with Vardon in the Leeds Mercury of yesterday. If you can get anything more out of Vardon than there is given I should be glad to have it. But this interview gives nothing more than is already known.

Please note that I must have copy on Monday morning. If you go tell Vardon that you are doing it for me.

Wishing you a Happy New Year.

I am
Yours very truly
Garden G. Smith

Clear and concise letter with golf content, and full name signature. Garden G Smith was also a founding member of the Aberdeen University Golf Course, great early example of a early 1900's golf writer.
