International Trophy Medallion - 1956 Team Member - Original Box
Jack Fleck received this 3" diameter trophy medallion (which remains in the original box of presentation) for his participation as part of the PGA of Americas two man team which participated in the 72-hole stroke play International Matches held in 1956 at the Club de Golf in Mexico City, Mexico. These matches began in 1953 with John Jay Hopkins of General Dynamics fame as financier. They were established to promote international goodwill through golf. As this event yearly traveled around the globe it became quite prestigious in the 1960's and 70's when it became known as The World Cup.
