Circa 1890's Z Hutchison 27 Golf Ball Line Cut Gutty Golf Ball - Size 27 - Roberto Collection
This pristine example of work from revered golf ball maker Hutchison in unimprovable condition nestled in this lot places its significance above and beyond the others, if you are fortunate enough to locate one 125 years later. Carefully marked "Z -Hutchison - 27" in nicely contrasting black paint on the off-white ball, mentioning that this ball is unstruck is merely stating the obvious. Grooves throughout this machine cut gutty are well defined and remain filled with paint, perpendicularly working their way around the surface of this spectacular sphere. Working in this ball to an advanced collection as either a higher grade machine-cut gutty example or elevating it as the first in a sub-category. This ball's origin story includes being a prized piece in the well curated Will Roberto Collection.
