1955 The Open Championship at The Old Course, St. Andrews Official Program
For the price of two shillings this program was purchased at the home of golf nearly 70 years ago by a member of the gallery to best take in the 1955 Open Championship. Pleasing color remains on the paper ephemera with stripes of aqua color on the top and bottom of the cover. Held at the Old Course St. Andrews, eventual 5-time Champion Golfer of the Year Peter Thomson of Australia captured The 84th Open Championship by 2 strokes over Scotsman John Fallon with a seven under par total of 281. This programme, as it is called at The Open, was from Thursday, July 7th first round. It not only survived its trip across the pond, but remains in good condition.
