Original Rare Bobby Jones Teeing Off on Augusta National Construction Grounds Photo & Negative - Never Seen!
This is one of less than six (6) known photographs of Bobby Jones playing Augusta National during construction and prior to the grand opening. Opportunities like this do not present themselves very often so now is your chance. Presented here is a museum quality 5" x 4" photograph & original negative of Bobby Jones playing golf on what could be current #4 (then hole # 13) or possibly #3 (then hole #12) during the construction phase of Augusta National Golf Club. Circa 1931-1932.
To our knowledge this photograph has never been seen by the public or reproduced in any manner (besides the original from Tommins Studio found in this lot). This is the first time this image has been viewed in public since it went into the Miller family closet nearly 90 years ago. The photograph and negative are sourced directly from the Wendell P. Miller who was Bobby Jones’ trusted Chief Engineer working alongside Alister Mackenzie for the development and creation of Augusta National Golf Club. The Miller family has decided to share this special relic with our bidding community. The Miller Family is giving all rights they have in and to this image to the winning bidder. A must have for the most ardent Jones and Augusta collector. Please note that it is difficult to verify exactly who the other gentlemen are in this photograph, but we believe they include Bobby's father Bob Jones, Sr. (Colonel), Clifford Roberts, and Alister MacKenzie, among others. 5" x 4" photo & negative.

AUCTION CLOSING RULES:
Place your bids now as this auction will close LOT BY LOT beginning at 10:00pm EDT Sunday, June 19th. When placing your INITIAL bid in the auction, you must agree to the terms BEFORE confirming your bid. All items with multiple bidders in the auction will be eligible for the extended bidding period. Each lot will have its OWN COUNTDOWN CLOCK set for a 30-minute interval, and the clock will extend 30-minutes from the time of the most recently placed bid for that lot. If no bids are placed on that lot during a 30-minute period, the lot will close. Place your bids now!
1. You must place your initial bids BEFORE extended bidding begins to bid on the item in extended bidding
2. During extended bidding, you are allowed to bid only on items you PREVIOUSLY placed a bid on.
3. All lots with only ONE or NO BIDS will automatically close at 10pm EDT
4. All available lots will begin closing on a LOT BY LOT basis at 10pm EDT
**Once extended bidding starts at 10pm EDT, each lot will then begin closing with its own 30-minute countdown timer. Lots without a bid during extended bidding will close at 10:30pm ET. We recommend you place your maximum bid(s) prior to that time. Thank you**
