Augusta National Tribute To Ike - Binder of Misc. Publications/Articles/Info

Five-star General Dwight D. Eisenhower served as the 34th President of the United States for two terms from 1953 to 1961 and was known as an avid golfer, with a close relationship to Bobby Jones and Augusta National Golf Club. Headed up by Augusta National Golf Club Chairman Clifford Roberts was 'Golf's Tribute to IKE Meeting on March 15 at Augusta, Georgia.' Included in this binder is numerous correspondence (two signed by Cliff Roberts in ballpoint pen) along with publications, articles and info about Augusta's tribute to Ike along with the fundraising effort for Eisenhower's birthday. On Ike's birthday in 1971 some of golf's dignitaries including Clifford Roberts and PGA President Warren Orlick were joined by Bob Hope and others in celebrating the October 14 event with monetary contributions to his medical and educational institutions then looked at as living memorials for Eisenhower.
