Chris DiMarco's Match Clinching Used 2005 The President's Cup Caddy Bib - Winning Putt!
Off the back of long-time accomplished PGA Tour caddy Mitch DiMarco to this offering is brother Chris Dimarco's match used 2005 President's Cup caddy bib. Signs of wear consistent to that of tournament usage, this bib boasts the United States' stars and stripes along with the player's course identifier "DIMARCO" in jet black capital letters on front and back. The undefeated Chris Dimarco led his team with 4.5 points compiling a 4-0-1, however no moment was more valuable than his final winning birdie putt in the final match against Stuart Appleby. DiMarco's reaction that followed was legendary, fist pumping prior to turning around to face the patriotic crowd for two emphatic leaps in the air. By his side during that deciding match, along with the other four that week, was his caddy and more importantly brother Mitch weather this bib. A signed letter of provenance from Mitch Dimarco comes with this lot.
The DiMarco Collection
The DiMarco family, with 7-year-old Chris and his two older brothers Mitch and Rick, packed up their bags and moved to Florida from New York in 1975. The golf season just got longer. Chris chose to stay nearby when the prep golfing standout chose the fairways of University of Florida in Gainesville. It was only the beginning, as the 3-time All American Chris Dimarco would be headed to the PGA Tour with stops along the way and again be accompanied by his family for the trip. The DiMarco team remained close by as the main support system through Chris' career development. Throughout that career, be it individual events or international team events such as the Ryder Cup, brothers Mitch and Rick would be nearby - even on Chris' bag. When Tiger Woods was looking for an adversary, Chris stepped up to the plate in the early to mid 2000's winning three times on the PGA Tour (including Tiger's Buick Challenge in 2001) and went to a Playoff with Woods at the 2005 Masters Tournament. Great play was honored, as he was chosen for the 2004 and 2006 US Ryder Cup Teams, along with the 2003 and 2005 President's Cup Teams. Place your bids now as this auction will close LOT BY LOT beginning at 10:00pm EDT Sunday, May 22nd. When placing your INITIAL bid in the auction, you must agree to the terms BEFORE confirming your bid. All items with multiple bidders in the auction will be eligible for the extended bidding period. Each lot will have its OWN COUNTDOWN CLOCK set for a 30-minute interval, and the clock will extend 30-minutes from the time of the most recently placed bid for that lot. If no bids are placed on that lot during a 30-minute period, the lot will close. Place your bids now!
1. You must place your initial bids BEFORE extended bidding begins to bid on the item in extended bidding
2. During extended bidding, you are allowed to bid only on items you PREVIOUSLY placed a bid on.
3. All lots with only ONE or NO BIDS will automatically close at 10pm EDT
4. All available lots will begin closing on a LOT BY LOT basis at 10pm EDT
**Once extended bidding starts at 10pm EDT, each lot will then begin closing with its own 30-minute countdown timer. Lots without a bid during extended bidding will close at 10:30pm ET. We recommend you place your maximum bid(s) prior to that time. Thank you**
