1903 Tooting Bec Golf Club Sizable Brass Medal to E.M. Drower - Medalist Competition
London's Tootling Bec Golf Club opened its doors in 1888, playing links golf at the local 9-hole Tooting Common grounds. This thick, sizable 2 3/8" diameter medal contains the club and "Medal Competition" encircling a mid-swing old-time golfer. "Won By EM Drower - 82-3=79 - May, 1903," is found upon inspection of the verso. Curated collections with an emphasis of turn-of-the-20th century trophies and medals from clubs "across the pond" rich in history yearn for this relic.
