Accomplished amateur golfer Bobby Jones was a visionary and used his golfing expertise, along with business partner Clifford Roberts and course architect Alister MacKenzie to create the course that he always wanted to play on. Once it was to his liking in 1933 it was opened up and hosted the Augusta National Annual Invitation Tournament, which was then renamed the Masters
