This display was crafted for The Doug Sanders museum, with adhesive holding the glove in place
ormer U.S. Open Champion Hubert Green returned from virtual oblivion to out-duel defending Champion Lee Trevino at Cherry Hills Country Club in Englewood, Colorado. With rounds of 66 and 68, Trevino led at the midway point, but with closing rounds of 70 and 72, Green overtook Trevino for a two-stroke victory.
Scott Simpson 'Chased down Watson' on the final day of the 1987 US Open by scoring a birdie on holes 14, 15, and 16 en route to a 68 for the final day. Watson missed a 45ft putt attempt in order to tie Simpson, securing Scott his one stroke win and only Major Victory
Pebble Beach in 1977 was the site of Wadkins most significant career victory when he notched the PGA championship. Many of his greatest accolades in a Hall of Fame career came as a star on several US Ryder Cup wins.
In 1988, Strange won four tournaments, including the U.S. Open, and became the first golfer to crack the $1 million mark for single-season earnings. In 1989, at age 34, he won his second U.S. Open. Strange's first U.S. Open win came via an 18-hole playoff defeat of Nick Faldo.
