Orville Moody & Tony Jacklin Signed Golf Glove Display with Johnny Miller Glove
This display was crafted for The Doug Sanders museum, with adhesive holding the glove in place. Please note that Johnny Miller glove is only the glove as the signature is unfortunately no longer visible
In order to make the field at the 1969 US Open, the 35 year old and 14 year Army veteran Orville Moody, had to advance through both local and sectional qualifying. 'The Sarge' is the last champion to do so. Down three shots entering the final round, Moody kept his head down and got the job done at Champions Club in Houston, Texas, winning the only PGA Tour event of his career
Tony Jacklin was the most successful British player of his generation, winning two major championships. He was also the most successful European Ryder Cup captain ever. In 1969, Jacklin became the first British player to win The Open Championship for 18 years, winning by two strokes at Royal Lytham & St Annes. His U.S.Open Championship was the only victory,at the event, by a European player in an 84-year span (1926–2009)
