2005, 2006, 2007 & 2008 Masters Tournament Employee Pins
In 2005, Jack Nicklaus closed out his long running record setting career of active competition at the Masters. His play in that event caused reflection on just how spectacular his run was, highlighted by six wins (1963, 65,66, 72,75,86) at the Augusta National. The rainy conditions forced Tiger Woods and Chris DiMarco to finish in a play off that saw Woods victorious for his 4th Masters title.
The 2006 Masters Tournament was Phil Mickelson's year. He became a two time winner at the Masters and marked his third Major Championship in as many years.
2007 was a monumental year for Zach Johnson. He captured his first Masters victory which was also his first major championship victory. Johnson's victory put aside the notion that only long hitters could win the Masters. He didn't reach a single par 5 hole in 2 shots yet still played the par 5's better than anyone. As joyous as a day this was for Zach Johnson, this would be the last Masters appearance for the great Seve Ballesteros.
