Vintage Copeland Blue with White Spade Pitcher - R.H. Stearns & Co. Boston
Here is a vintage Copeland Spode Golf Themed pitcher with a time-period golf scene in on the royal blue pitcher. Josiah Spode established his ceramics company in 1776 after spending several years working for other local potteries. Like his friend and neighbor Josiah Wedgwood, Spode focused on making the highest quality ceramic wares. With a relief golf scene in light grey on the dark blue background, this ornate, detailed English stamped pitcher presents very well. There are multiple stamps on the bottom of the pottery piece from the Copeland maker. There are no chips or cracks throughout this vintage piece, only light wear that is detailed in the accompanying lot photos.
