1961 Ryder Cup USA & Great Britain Team Signed Hotel Dinner Menu (Missing O'Connor)
Gentlemen from both sides of the biennial matches sat down for dinner prior to competition on Saturday, October 14th in 1961 at the Hotel Majestic nearby the Royal Lytham and St Annes Course alongside select dignitaries from the host association of the PGA, as well as a short list of deserving invitees. There was be a toast to the Queen and United States President and players would set aside their on course differences for the formal social gathering. This off-white red print menu, once used for ordering, transitioned into a vehicle for signatures from both sides of the contest. With great success, 19 of the 20 possible were obtained by the fortunate attendee including golf's top name Arnold Palmer. The 1961 Match was the debut of Arnold Palmer in Ryder Cup play, he would go on to post 23 points won in 32 career matches. Penned just above their respective name are the following signatures on the same plane of this 1961 Ryder Cup Dinner Menu: US Team - Arnold Palmer, Billy Casper, Art Wall, Doug Ford, Gene Littler, Jay Hebert, Jerry Barber, Dow Finsterwald, Mike Souchak, and Bill Collins. Great Britain Team - Dai Rees, Peter Alliss, Ken Bousfield, Neil Coles, Bernard Hunt, Tom Haliburton, John Paton and Harry Weetman. James Spence Authentication (JSA) has reviewed this signature and their auction letter of authenticity comes with this lot.

Place your bids now as this auction will close LOT BY LOT beginning at 10:00pm ET Sunday, November 21st. When placing INITIAL bid in the auction, you must agree to the terms BEFORE confirming your bid. All items with multiple bids in the auction will be eligible for the extended bidding period. Each lot will have its OWN COUNTDOWN CLOCK set for a 30-minute interval, and the clock will extend 30-minutes from the time of the most recently placed bid for that lot. If no bids are placed on that lot during a 30-minute period, the lot will close. Place your bids now!
1. You must place your initial bids BEFORE extended bidding begins to bid on the item in extended bidding
2. During extended bidding, you are allowed to bid only on items you PREVIOUSLY placed a bid on.
3. All lots with only ONE or NO BIDS will automatically close at 10pm ET
4. All available lots will begin closing on a LOT BY LOT basis at 10pm ET
**Once extended bidding starts at 10pm ET, each lot will then begin closing with its own 30-minute countdown timer. Lots without a bid during extended bidding will close at 10:30pm ET. We recommend you place your maximum bid(s) prior to that time. Thank you**
