Payne Stewart Signed 1991 Ryder Cup USA Team Issued Red/White/Blue Shirt- L
Contained in this lot is a Payne Stewart signed 1991 Ryder Cup at Kiawah Island USA Team Member Issued fancy red, white and blue Aureus short sleeve shirt in flowing black sharpie in the ideal position. The stars and stripes are embroidered on the sleeve, with the "TEAM" just below the front logo. They didn't get anymore patriotic than Payne Stewart did, finding the utmost joy in representing his country on the course next to his beloved teammates, competitors and ultimately friends. Payne Stewart was The "War on the Shore" 1991 Ryder Cup matches saw the US take back the cup, 14 1/2 to 13 1/2. Hale Irwin got to play hero as Steve Pate, after suffering a rib injury earlier in the week, was unable to compete and his singles match was halved by rule. Irwin was taking on the fiery German Bernhard Langer, who missed a 6 foot putt that would have won his match and retained the Ryder Cup for Europe. Instead Irwin held on an halved the match, claiming the Ryder Cup for the US for the first time since 1983. Payne Stewart amassed 2.5 points in the matches, winning his two foursomes matches. This shirt is tastefully presented in a gold framed shadowbox. James Spence Authentication (JSA) has reviewed this signature and their auction letter of authenticity comes with this lot.

When placing INITIAL bid in the auction, you must agree to the terms BEFORE confirming your bid. All items with multiple bids in the auction will be eligible for the extended bidding period. Each lot will have its OWN COUNTDOWN CLOCK set for a 30-minute interval, and the clock will extend 30-minutes from the time of the most recently placed bid for that lot. If no bids are placed on that lot during a 30-minute period, the lot will close. Place your bids now!
1. You must place your initial bids BEFORE extended bidding begins to bid on the item in extended bidding
2. During extended bidding, you are allowed to bid only on items you PREVIOUSLY placed a bid on.
3. All lots with only ONE or NO BIDS will automatically close at 10pm ET
4. All available lots will begin closing on a LOT BY LOT basis at 10pm ET
