Obtained from an Atlanta Athletic Club employee. Bobby Jones was president of the club and an active member until his death in 1971. The club shifted sites from the East Lake Club where Jones grew up playing to its current Johns Creek location in the late 1960's. The Atlanta Athletic club has hosted many numerous high profile golf events over the years including most recently the 1963 Ryder Cup, 1976 U. S. Open and the 2001 and 2011 PGA Championships.
