Babe Zaharias Signed Cleveland Transit System Pass with Exhibition at Hawthorne Article
Circa 1948, the larger-than-life athlete of Babe Zaharias was approached for a signature on the reverse of this transit pass, possibly the only item the fan had on them at the time. Zaharias obliged and left a pleasing pencil signature on the light colored paper. The late Zaharias excelled in golf, basketball, baseball and won two gold medals in the 1932 Olympics in track and field competitions. She passed away at the young age of 45 in 1956, making her signature not an easy one to obtain. During her golfing career Babe Zaharias was victorious an astounding 41 times on the LPGA tour, with 10 of those being major victories. Along with this signed pass comes a time-period newspaper photo of the Babe teeing it up. 3 3/4" x 2 1/8." James Spence Authentication (JSA) has reviewed this signature and their auction letter of authenticity comes with this lot.

All items that have received multiple bids in the auction will remain open until no items have received a bid within a 15 minute time period (at 10pm EST, the countdown clock will be adjusted to a 5 minute interval). 1. You must place your initial bids BEFORE extended bidding begins to bid on the item in extended bidding
2. During extended bidding, you are allowed to bid only on items you PREVIOUSLY placed a bid on.
3. All lots that are active in extended bidding will close at the same time, and those with only ONE or NO BIDS will close at 9pm EST
