Clifford Roberts Signed Book Plate in 'The Story of the Augusta National Golf Club'

Clifford Roberts was the co-founder with Bobby Jones of Augusta National G.C. Roberts served as Chairman of the club for more than four decades, 1931 - 1976, and was named "Chairman in Memoriam" after his death. Not only was he the chairman of Augusta National, but he also served as Chairman of the Masters Tournament from 1934 through 1976. In 1977, after being quite ill for many months, Clifford perished on the banks of Ike's Pond by his own hand denying his terminal cancer the opportunity to conclude its cruel work. Clifford Roberts signed this 'The Story of the Augusta National Golf Club' book plate adhered opposite the title page in strong blue ballpoint. It is not personalized and comes with its original dustjacket. James Spence Authentication (JSA) has reviewed the signature and their auction letter of authenticity will come with this lot.

1. You must place your initial bids BEFORE extended bidding begins to bid on the item in extended bidding
2. During extended bidding, you are allowed to bid only on items you PREVIOUSLY placed a bid on.
3. All lots that are active in extended bidding will close at the same time, and those with only ONE or NO BIDS will close at 9pm EST
