Ben Hogan & Sam Snead Signed 'Follow the Sun' Page with Seldom Seen Invitation
"Twentieth Century Fox and Mr. and Mrs. Ben Hogan invite you to the World Premiere of "Follow The Sun" Starring Glenn Ford and Anne Baxter Friday evening the twenty-third of March Nineteen hundred and fifty-one at eight o'clock Worth Threatre Fort Worth, Texas," reads this seldom seen 'Follow the Sun' invitation that accompanies a page explaining the film about the star golfer Ben Hogan. "The accident and the events that followed were depicted in "Follow the Sun."" This sheet is signed by Ben Hogan of course, as well as Sam Snead above his acting credit "Sam Snead as Himself." Nine-time Major championship winner Ben Hogan made quite a name for himself in golf, enough so that a movie was made about the life of he and his wife, Valerie. The movie 'Follow the Sun' came out in 1951 as the story of Ben & Valerie Hogan, following their near-death experience and career-threatening car accident and before Hogan's Triple Crown 1953 season. James Spence Authentication (JSA) has reviewed this signature and their auction letter of authenticity comes with this lot.
