Jimmy Demaret Signed Champions Club Scorecard
Champions Golf Club was founded by Jack Burke, Jr. and the late Jimmy Demaret in 1957. From its origin, Champions has consistently carved its place in golf history hosting such prestigious events as the Ryder Cup Matches in 1967, the United States Open in 1969 and the Champions International, a PGA tour event. From the Lonestar State, Jimmy Demaret opened the club in his home state of Texas with his good friend and fellow Master champion. Demaret wrote his legacy on the hallowed grounds of Augusta National Golf Club, when in 1950 he became the first three-time Masters champion. Jimmy Demaret was as popular with Hollywood celebrities as any golfers of his day, playing pro-am's as well as building personal friendships with his polarizing personality. In strong ballpoint pen Jimmy Demaret carefully applied his signature to this Champions Golf Club scorecard bearing his likeness on the front, appropriately dressed in different pastel colors. James Spence Authentication (JSA) has reviewed this signature and their auction letter of authenticity comes with this lot.
