Jack Westland's Personal 1952 US Amateur Winner's Contestant Badge - Seattle Golf Club
Native to Washington, more specifically Everett, eventual United States House of Representatives American Politician Jack Westland found great success during his nearly 3 decades of amateur golf. Evidence of this and likely on a short list of prized possessions was this 1952 US Amateur Winner's Contestant Badge affixed to his clothing during the pinnacle of his career, right down the road at the Seattle Golf Club. The success would come less than a year prior to being appointed into office, and after staying well practiced for decades, twenty-one years after he finished runner up to the 'Father of Amateur Golf' Francis Ouimet. This contestant badge employs the classic USGA contestant design elements. It is in excellent condition with only slight oxidation on verso. Still contains vivid royal blue enamel and a working pin. Please refer to the photos for an additional condition report. A letter of provenance explaining that it came originally from the Westland family estate will accompany this lot.

All items that have received multiple bids in the auction will remain open until no items have received a bid within a 15 minute time period (at 10pm EST, the countdown clock will be adjusted to a 5 minute interval). 2. During extended bidding, you are allowed to bid only on items you PREVIOUSLY placed a bid on.
3. All lots that are active in extended bidding will close at the same time, and those with only ONE or NO BIDS will close at 9pm EST
