1947 Ltd Ed 'The Golfer's Manual' Book 426/750 - Reprinted 1857 'A Keen Hand'

The reprinted 1947 edition of 'A Keen Hand' begins with an introduction from the renown golf writer Bernard Darwin. Darwin talks about author Henry Brougham Farnie as 'the first to set forth the joys and agonies of the game and his technical views on how to play it, in sober prose.' This edition is numbered 426 out of 750 and a great addition to any golf library. Printed on a handpress on Milbourn hand-made paper, some uncut. Donovan & Murdoch 1143. As Joseph Murdoch wrote: "A book of considerable importance” in that it was the first book of prose written on golf and generally recognized as the first book of golf instruction. This volume is near mint condition, bright and clean with no marks or blemishes. Difficult to find at all, never mind in this remarkable, “as new” condition.
