Denny Shute Signed 1933 Ryder Cup Expense Breakdown Sheet
1933 Open Champion and back-to-back PGA Championship winner in 1936 and 1937 was Densmore, Denny, Shute. Contained in this lot is his 1933 Ryder Cup expense report. This breakdown sheet is itemized and reveals that of his $1,000 allowance Shute spent $487.34, leaving $512.66. This was his second of three Ryder Cups contested. 1933 was of course hosted by Southport and Ainsdale Golf Club in England and won by the host team 6 1/2 to 5 1/2. Denny left his full "Densmore" Shute signature to confirm his payment was received. James Spence Authentication (JSA) has reviewed this signature and their auction letter of authenticity comes with this lot.
