This offering is for Walter Hagen's Signed 1931 Ryder Cup Team Expenses Payment Reception. On July 30, 1931 The Haig acknowledged that he was reimbursed for the $135 of 'Traveling and Misc. Expenses' from Detroit, Michigan to Columbus, Ohio for the matches and back. With flawless flowing time-period ink comes this Walter Hagen strong signature of approval, surely one of the finest examples we have seen. A career that tallied 11 Major championships, Walter Hagen made quite a name for himself in golf. A majors total that was the most for his era, and now only behind only Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods. James Spence Authentication (JSA) has reviewed this signature and their auction letter of authentication comes with this lot. A letter of from PGA Historian Bob Denney will accompany this lot.
