Ralph Hutchison (Masters 18th Hole Announcer) Personal Signed Masters Hat
This is Ralph's personal hat that he wore for many years while announcing the Groups as they came to 18. Hutchison was the head pro at Saucon Valley for nearly forty years. Hutchison was also the 18th green announcer for the Masters from 1949 till 1974. In 1954 he won the Philadelphia Open. Hutchison played in six US Open championships. He also made the quarterfinals in the PGA Championship, twice, when it was match play. Ben Hogan and Hutchison were longtime friends having traveled by car together when both were young twenty something year old starving players breaking onto the PGA Tour in the 1930's (this relationship with Hutchinson was confirmed by Hogan in a 1983 CBS interview and also appears in Curt Sampson's 2001 book "Hogan"). This closeness over the years continued as they both received top club head professional jobs in the PGA's Philadelphia section. Simply put, this Masters Tournament relic is truly one of a kind.
