Johnny Farrell Signed Baltusrol Scorecard with Score & Ben Hogan Record Notation
Johnny Farrell marked and signed for his then course record 64 on the Baltusrol Lower Course on this vintage scorecard. Adding to the intrigue of this piece, as well as accuracy, Farrell wrote in ballpoint pen that Ben Hogan tied his 64 record score on National Golf Day. One of the most consistent professionals of the 1920's, Johnny Farrell had his career defining moment when he won the 1928 United States Open Championship contested at Olympia Fields just outside Chicago. James Spence Authentication (JSA) has reviewed this signature and their auction letter of authentication comes with this lot.
