Celebrated Amateur golfer Frank Stranahan was awarded this medal by the United States Golf Association when he posted the low score at the Phoenix, Arizona local Qualifying event to participate in the 1962 U.S. Open. Customary of USGA medals and merchandise, This sterling silver medal contains The Great Seal of the United States, with red, white and blue enamel tastefully included. Adding to this medal's appeal is the meticulous etching of Frank Stranahan's name on the medal's reverse. Inscription Reads: 1962 Open Championship - Frank Stranahan - Local Qualifying Rounds - Phoenix - Low Scorer - Sterling - The Robbins Co. Measures 1 1/2" diameter
