1948 PGA Championship Program - Ben Hogan Winner Signed by Walter Hagen & others
On five separate occasions Walter Hagen was able to conquer the field and win the match play PGA Championship between 1921 and 1927. This offering is for a 1948 PGA Championship program from Ben Hogan's victory at Norwood Hills CC that is signed by Walter Hagen "Golfingly" in the center, along with others that played a part in the tournament. Ben Hogan won the 1948 PGA Championship 7 & 6 over Mike Turnesa. This was Ben's second and final PGA Championship title, and he became just the second of four golfers to ever win the US Open and PGA Championship in the same calendar year. This piece is signed and inscribed by others of importance to the patron. The program comes in good condition, with overall cover wear. James Spence Authentication (JSA) has reviewed this signature and their auction letter of authentication comes with this lot. A letter of from PGA Historian Bob Denney will accompany this lot.
