Cary Middlecoff Signed June 10, 1957 Sports Illustrated Cover

Cary Middlecoff left his position as a dentist to become a professional golfer and never looked back, going on to win three major championships (US Open in 1949, 1956 and 1955 Masters). Here he left his signature on the cover of the 1957 Sports Illustrated previewing the 1957 US Open. Middlecoff came close to defending his title, losing to Dick Mayer in an 18 hole playoff. This Sports Illustrated magazine is signed by the multi-major champion on the cover in red fine tip marker to the right of his image. James Spence Authentication (JSA) has reviewed the signature and their auction letter of authenticity will come with this lot.
