Horton Smith Signed Cachet w/ PSA 9 Mint Grade

With an exceptional PSA graded Mint 9 signature of inaugural Masters Champion Horton Smith adorning this cachet in "Position A," this item would be an important addition to any golf collection. This cachet is dated 9/11/1954 and was sent from Minneapolis, Minnesota. One of the top professional golfers of the 1930's, Horton Smith will forever be known as the champion of the first Masters in 1934. He added a second win at Augusta in 1936 among his 32 career PGA triumphs. In 1930, he was the only player to defeat Bobby Jones in his Grand Slam season. Smith was also a top player in the early Ryder Cup competitions appearing in five consecutive events from 1929-37. The World Golf Hall-of-Famer was the first Masters Champion to pass away in 1963 at 55. Here we have a signed by Smith in blue ballpoint ink. Surely the mint signature your collection is missing. 6 1/2" by 3 3/4" in dimensions. PSA has reviewed the signature and has encapsulated this signed cachet and graded the signature 9 Mint in strength.
