The Country Club Brookline Spring Cup 1971 Trophy Pitcher by Preisner Pewter

Located in Brookline, Massachusetts, The Country Club is one of the premier golf clubs in the United States. Its impressive resume needs no introduction, but will receive one. Established in 1882, The Country Club was one of the five charter clubs that founded the United States Golf Association on December 22, 1894. In 1913 the club was host to the US Open, won by the unlikely amateur champion Francis Ouimet.

This pitcher was given to the runner-up club member in the 1971 Spring Cup, as engraved into the front. Adorned by the club's logo featuring the squirrel on a small medallion, this piece presents well. It is 6 1/2" tall and has a diameter of 5." It is in good condition, with overall wear. The Country Club has been host to numerous other significant tournaments. It held the US Amateur tournament in 1910, 1922, 1934, 1957 and 2013. The Country Club has also generously hosted the 1963 and 1988 US Opens, with the 2022 US Open on the schedule. Fittingly, in 1999 it was location to one of the most storied Ryder Cup Matches ever as the United States pulled out a come from behind victory.

All items that have received multiple bids in the auction will remain open until no items have received a bid within a 15 minute time period (at 10pm EST, the countdown clock will be adjusted to a 5 minute interval)
