Circa 1930's Royal Doulton Earthenware Mug w/ Ancient Golfer Addressing Ball
The Doulton family started making pipes and sanitary fittings in 1815, later enlisting local artists to design tableware and fine collectibles. Doulton was granted the Royal Warrant in 1901, and continues to make fine glassware to this day, now a part of the Waterford Wedgwood family. Here is a 5 1/2" earthenware mug from the 1930's. It contains an ancient golf scene with a golfer addressing a ball and multiple onlookers in the background. It appears that there have been repairs done on the bottom of the mug, with no pieces missing.
