'To Gladys Cosgrove' Poem Carved on Wood by Johannesen
Offered here is an 11 5/8" tall wooden piece with a poem carved into it. The poem reads as follows:
"To Gladys Cosgrove
Your prize collection of figurines
Just fascinated me:
They've every kind of golfing form
I ever hope to see.
Some are made of precious china
And some are made of wood
Some of them are golfing greats
And some not quite so good.
I gazed at one and wondered
As I stoof there - mouth agape,
For she had swung her club so hard
She had pretzelized her shape.
An eager duffer squints afar-
His drive he cannot see;
His caddy's gestures indicated
The ball's still on the tee.
Some of them have perfect form
On trophies that are keen,
But they are replicas of you,
So I'll crown you, "Golfing Queen."
E. I. Johannesen"
