This contestants pin is in 1 1/4" diameter and was crafted by "M. Pudlin Co. Inc. 286 5TH AVE. N.Y.C.", but is missing its manufacturers paper on the back of the button. Original curricular pin is missing on button back. The button reverse also shows significant rusting. Front of button is free from scratches and scrapes. Lone exception is minute indent above initial 9 in 1939 Lettering on button is simple block letters "United States Golf Association", "1939 Open Championship", "Sectional Qualifying Rounds" which reverses out of a green field. In you advanced out of qualifying you had a challenge in Byron Nelson who notched his lone US Open title in 1939.
