1951 US Open at Oakland Hills CC Program - Ben Hogan Winner
To conquer the field of 162 golfers competing in the 1951 U.S. Open meant that you had to be a player of supreme talent, it also required that you achieve at the long, narrow and rugged Oakland Hills Country Club. Ben Hogan did, in what he claimed was his greatest round of golf. Hogan was one of only two players to break par on the week, shooting 67 on Sunday to claim the Open Championship. It gave "Bantom Ben" back-to back U.S. Open victories (6th of 9 career major wins). Offered in this lot is a United States Golf Association published program from the course, Oakland Hills, which was known as "The Monster". This is a treasure that only a select few collectors of the U.S. Open and Hogan can own. This program presents in good condition, with wear to the cover and spine.
