Side-by-side in this original photo are seven posed men in two rows gathering in suits and ties with the Champion Golfers of the World Alf Perry and Alf Padgham slightly less formal as they lightly had a tournament/matches that day. The Great Britain Ryder Cup teammates combined for six contests, overlapping for the 1933, 1935 and 1937 international contests against the United States. This black and white landscape oriented photo is crystal clear and adhered to time-period board in which both Alf's are notated in pencil just below along with their meaningful title of 'Open Champion.'
Alf Perry was the surprise Golfer of the Year in 1935 when he was victorious at Muirfield at the 1935 Open Championship. This photo is from a Ryder Cup program, as he was a British team member in 1933, 1935 and 1937.
Alfred Harry Padgham had two consecutive top-five Open finishes going into the 1936 Open Championship, he left Hoylake with a victory and as the Champion Golfer of the Year. Padgham was a successful national golfer and was a British Ryder Cup team member three times. 12" x 10"
