Tiger Woods Signed Titleist 1 Logo Golf Ball Dated 6-19-93 PSA #AR00976
Signed and dated just a week after Tiger Woods finished his high school career at Western High School in Anaheim, California with a section individual title and team third-place league finish the Stanford bound Woods signed this Titleist golf ball with the '6-13-93' inked to the right. What was Woods' motivation playing in high school against far inferior and less experienced prep golfers? Western High School Coach explained, “He’s not playing the competition; he is always playing his own game against the golf course.” That makes sense. The recent Time Orange County player of the year, along with a host of other accolades, came in abundance for the 17-year old Junior who wouldn't graduate high school until the following year. One of the earliest golf balls, with his nearly prehistoric signature formation that would be spelt out before shortening in 1994 and slowly expanding over the next five years or so. This is a DT-100 (Durable Titleist) golf ball with a black mark through it, along with some strike marks on the ball itself. These were popular balls in the early to mid 1990's and composed of surlyn synthetic rubber covers with 100 compression.
