Staging an 1890 golf clubmaker bench with mostly time-period equipment, tools and materials to complete the intricate process of crafting a hickory shafted club, this lot is a highly unique opportunity - both an instance visual education of the process as well as display unlike others in the golf realm. These items are mostly attached to the bench with adhesive to keep the still-life as one cohesive unit, while the acrylic top is removable. Due to expansive dimensions and weight, we are starting this lot at an enticing bid amount that will be aside from the heighted shipping cost. Freight, multiple pallets or custom shipping, 60x41x26" are the dimensions for your reference. Included in this completist bench are the following: Butt end grip whipping (not trimmed), wrapped leather grip, wool underlisting, manufactures name, leather for grip wrapping, 1910 Slazenger Club ca. 1910, wool listing for grips, rams horn club head slips, sole plate, The Spalding Transition Club ca.1890, clubmakers signature stamp, unfinished club head, vice and loft, club head template, numbers for stamping club, spliced/scared head club brass sole plate, a dam is made of puddy around the cavity in the club head then filled with hot lead for proper weight (unfinished) remove puddy & file to smooth finish, removeable club holder for whipping & gripping, whipping varnish, club heada and shaft to be repaired, lead pouring dipper, lead melting pot, nice and loft, whipping spool and shuttle, club head screws, hammers, and much more.
