Lenox Gold Rimmed Lady Golfer with Caddy & House Golf Scene Green Stein
Lenox Golfing Stein featuring a golfer twosome. This hand painted stein from the early 1900's depicts a golfer addressing his ball while his playing partner watches on. The reverse side depicts a clubhouse on the hill. Perhaps an expensive gift at the turn of the century between golfing associates. Per the book Decorative Golf Collectibles by Shirley & Jerry Sprung, “Walter Scott Lenox founded the Ceramic Art Company in Trenton, NJ in 1889, but Lenox assumed complete control around 1895. In 1906, the name was changed to Lenox China Company. This pre 1906 piece contains the old CAC mark as well as the new Lenox name.
