Tom Watson Signed Eight (8) Major Championship Logo Golf Balls & Photos Custom Display
One of only three deluxe 8-ball Tom Watson signed royal blue with gold perimeter 'Major Championships' displays crafted is now available to the public for the first time! The breakdown is simple: two owned by principals of the company (in which this was) and a third the golf great Tom Watson himself! Attention to detail for this extremely limited exhibit with the ninth and tenth Tom Watson signatures reserved for perhaps his (and one of golf's) most iconic shot, to win the 1982 US Open at Pebble Beach. The sequence includes his visualization of that shot with club face ready to address ball as well as his equally memorable hands (and club) up celebration. Each of the 110 pieces, eight balls and two photos were carefully signed with Watson's black sharpie signature specifically for this high-end piece resulting in his legible, relaxed scribe rarely added to golf balls in general much less Masters and those from major winning venues. Just above the logo Watson added his penmanship for heightened visual appeal. Execution of this ball display was to a "T" as in Tom, with a signer that is less than likely to grant a signle ball autograph request in person. The logos from major winning venues included from left to right in sequence of victory are: 1975 British Open: Carnoustie logo, 1977 Masters: Masters logo, 1977 British Open: Turnberry logo, 1980 British Open: Muirfield logo, 1981 Masters: Masters logo, 1982 US Open: Pebble Beach logo, 1982 British Open: Royal Troon logo, and 1983 British Open: Royal Birkdale logo. 18 x 14." The pride of Kansas, Watson won 70 times professionally, holding the World No.1 ranking from 1978 until 1982, 1988 World Golf Hall of Fame inductee, he was 6-time PGA Tour Player of the Year and 3-time Vardon Trophy recipient. Watson remains a Masters Tournament Honorary Starter each April, a tournament in which he won twice - represented with two Masters logo balls here among the eight orbs and 10 signatures! Instantly take your golf fandom to the next level. James Spence Authentication (JSA) has reviewed these signatures and their auction letter of authenticity (ALOA) comes with this lot.
