1930 'Spaldings Athletic Library' No 3X Book
This bright green cover congrats a black and white image of the sportsman of all sportsman in the year of 1930, Grand Slam champion Bobby Jones. Jones is pictured with his Victory Cup from the Amateur Championship on the cover of this 1930 Spalding Golf Guide edited by friend and Augusta National member Grantland Rice. This marks the first time we have offered this publication, printed between his US Open and US Amateur wins in 1930. Page 1940 just below his full body post swing image notates 1928 as his final US Amateur, changing that of course in 1930. The next page starts a breakdown of his first three majors of the year, including a British Amateur scorecard. This publication is complete, with the accompanying lot photos acting as the detailed condition report.
