Gifted to victorious US Team member Hale Irwin, who was competing in his fourth biennial matches at Walton Heath, is the Matthew Norman Quartz desk clock in wooden case in this lot. Past success in the international affair for Irwin continued at the 1981 Ryder Cup, going 2-2 for a contribution of 2 points. Despite being in enemy territory, the United States Ryder Cup team cruised to a 9 point victory 18 1/2 to 9 1/2. It would be a team victory for the ages. Hale Irwin finished as a five-time Ryder Cup competitor with an outstanding record of 13-5-2 and most importantly five team victories. Clock does not currently work.
